Pegasus Riding For the Disabled

Recently I was privileged to be included in a charity treasury on Etsy. Canberra's Etsy team, Canetsy has put together a collection of items where the proceeds will be donated to Pegasus Riding for the Disabled, a local Canberra organisation.

Take a look at the wonderful items available here. The treasury will run until the end of March.

We have been fortunate enough to make 5 sales already through the extensive promoting everyone has been doing. One of the sales included my specially designed horse shoe bag.

$20 from the sale of this bag was donated to Pegasus

Pegasus is unfortunately facing closure due to lack of funds. This not for profit organisation first began in the 1970s after a Canberra Hospital Therapist decided to take children with disabilities out horse riding. The organisation started to grow with the help of volunteers and the generosity of existing riding schools. The benefits of riding are extraordinary - improving coordination and muscle development while building confidence and self esteem, leadership and trust.

Pegasus celebrates 40 years of service this year, but continually need donations to assist their fantastic cause. Take a look at their website for more information and ways to donate.

Happy Handbags...
